240 Volt Appliance Control

There are generally two broad categories of appliances, with respect to control methods, those with remote controls and those without.

Appliances with built in infrared remote controls can normally be accessed directly by a trainable infrared Environment Control Unit (ECU). This can all be done with one remote controller OR with just one switch using a Gewa PROG OR even with no switches at all using our voice recognition system. Note that Appliances with built in RADIO remote controls can be more difficult to access.

Most appliances that do not have any form of built in remote control can be accessed via one of our adaptors or modules - shown below.
For example: appliances such as lights, fans and heaters, as well as some simple radios.

• Plug the Module into a power point
• Turn on the power point
• Plug the Appliance into the Module
• Turn on the Appliance.
• Now, by controlling the Module remotely you can connect or disconnect the Appliance from the supply (the Appliance will, in this way, be turned on and off).
