240 Volt Appliance Control

There are generally two broad categories of appliances, with respect to control methods, those with remote controls and those without.

Appliances with built in infrared

Appliances with built in infrared remote controls can normally be accessed directly by a trainable infrared Environment Control Unit (ECU) - see below. Note that Appliances with built in RADIO remote controls can be more difficult to access.

Appliances without infrared

Most appliances that do not have any form of built in remote control can be accessed via one of our adaptors or modules - shown below.
For example: appliances such as lights, fans and heaters, as well as some simple radios.

What is an Environmental Controller?

An Environment Control Unit (ECU) is a fancy name for a special remote control. It can usually be programed to work a wide range of appliances and most can be accessed with switches that meet the needs of people special needs.
