Most ECU (Environment Control Units) systems can learn the Infrared (IR) signals from air conditioner remote controls. However
Infrared remote controls that are supplied with many air conditioners behave differently to
television and video remotes, which can make it very awkward to train an ECU.
Many air conditioner remotes have an LCD, a display that shows the current settings, and they emit a
complicated code to ensure the status of the display and the air conditioner are synchronised.
To overcome this problem Technical Solutions has created an interface that is wired into the relevant buttons on the air conditioner remote.
NOTE that Technical Solutions does not supply the remote - we modify your remote by permanently attaching it to the interface unit as shown right
The ECU user then sends IR signals to the interface, and the remote responds as if the button on it had been physically pressed. The display on the air conditioner remote shows the status of the system correctly, as it is being used to control the air conditioner.
The Air Conditioner Remote Control IR Interface unit receives a simple IR signal from an ECU and activates the air conditioner remote, which in turn emits its own codes to operate the air conditioner. Up to four buttons on the remote can be accessed by the ECU.
Typically the Air Conditioner Remote Control IR Interface can allow control of :
Functions may vary depending on those available on the air conditioner remote.
