At Last, an Accessible Camera -
ECU Compatible!

These cameras are bundled with a specially designed interface that allows the user to control the camera and take photos with one or two switches. The user can access both the shutter and zoom functions with the same switch or use two switches, one for each function.

The interface works with Pentax Optio-S10, Optio-S12 and Optio- A40 Cameras. A switch that best suits the user as well as a range of camera mounting and switch mounting hardware can be purchased separately.

Typically the camera can be attached, with suitable mounting hardware, to the front of the user’s wheelchair. A suitable switch can be plugged in to the interface and positioned to suit the user. If the camera is mounted on a motorised wheelchair, it effectively becomes a mobile tripod. Use the wheelchair controls to maneuver left and right, into the best position for the shot - the wheelchair tilt can even be used to tilt up and down. Users with enough hand function may be able to use a camera mount with a 'Pan Tilt' handle to more accurately frame the shot (see far below).

Single Switch Operation

1. Press and hold switch activated - a zoom signal will be sent every 2 seconds while switch remains activated – the camera steps through three zoom settings - wide, medium & telephoto
2. Release the switch when the desired zoom setting is achieved
3. Press switch briefly to activate the shutter
   (switch press of a short duration)
4. The Camera Remote Control will beep each time an infrared signal is sent to the camera

Two Switch Operation

1. Press Switch One to activate the shutter
2. Press Switch Two and the camera will step to the next of three zoom settings - wide, medium & telephoto

Camera Mount Options:

Universal Switch Mount -
Shown with optional Pan/Tilt adaptor

Our Universal Switch Mount can be fitted with a camera bracket and used to mount the camera on to a wheelchair, table, etc. Add the optional Pan/Tilt adaptor to the Universal Switch Mount for better control of camera positioning. This may suit those with enough hand function to move the pan/tilt handle.
