The Chair Exit Alarm is a radio linked patient monitor. The set consists of a durable low profile plastic switch, which can be placed under the patient's seat cushion, an alarm signal transmitter, in a small box attached to the back of the chair, and a Call Buzzer/receiver which can be located.
When the patient vacates their chair, it will activate a transmitter housed . If the chair is vacated for a set period of time, (1-15 seconds adjustable) the transmitter will send an alarm signal to the Call Buzzer/receiver.
The Call Buzzer radio receiver can be located anywhere within the radio range (up to 30 metres* in a building), and will sound a buzzer when the alarm signal is received. Several Chair switch/transmitter units can share one call buzzer/radio receiver, however staff will need to check each chair to see which one has activated the buzzer. Alternatively, chair transmitters and buzzers can be supplied in matched sets.

The receiver has two modes of operation:
Instant - The buzzer will sound only while the call switch is pressed.
Latch - The buzzer will start when the call switch is pressed and keep buzzing till the carer resets it.
