With one small hand-held transmitter the user can operate and control virtually everything electrical in his or her environment. Whether confined to a bed or wheelchair, or just simply having difficulty operating switches and buttons, the GEWA PROG family of infrared transmitters can make your life easier.
Advanced Technology
The GEWA Controllers incorporate the latest developments in advanced
technology specifically for those with disabilities.
Complete remote control
No wires
The fundamental objective of the GEWA family of Controllers is to allow people with special
needs freedom from being connected by wires or needing direct contact. Mobility is
enhanced and independence is increased.
The GEWA Control PROG is a scanning device, which means that any one of our range of special switches can be plugged in. Clicking a single switch gives the disabled user full and comprehensive environmental control of lights, telephones, alarms, beds, electrical power outlets, TV, video players, and hi-fi components as well as doors, windows, curtains, locks, elevators, page turners and computer access devices. Everything is controlled by the GEWA Control PROG infrared transmitter by direct selection or scanning techniques.
The GEWA Controllers enable the physically challenged individual to more easily control telephones to both make and receive calls. Entering or leaving home, changing TV channels, switching lights on and off and locking/unlocking or opening of entry doors are simply achieved. GEWA Controllers promote independence, peace of mind and self-esteem. Whether used in an apartment, a house, hospital or nursing home, choose from the GEWA range of Controllers -the solution for the really "Smart Home."
The Bed Switch Mount (below) is attached under the mattress so that the switch and mount will stay close to the correct position, within reach of the user, even when the bed height or location is changed.

The Bed Switch Mount - shown with SIPP-PUFF Switch tube and optional extra arm to hold the GEWA Control PROG environment controller. The mount arms are easily adjusted so that the user can puff on the tube to operate the PROG. The PROG mounting arm can be adjusted so that the user can see the lights on the face of the PROG.

For more information on Adaptive Technology, the Disability Forum is designed so people with disabilities can freely exchange information, learn from one another's experiences and pass on information. Lots of useful info, discussion and links. Includes discussion about the GEWA PROG and Naturally Speaking.
Take the PROG with you and control everything electrical in your home.
Above: The PROG is operated by clicking the small yellow 'SPECS switch' which
has been fastened to the side of the wheelchair arm rest with a velcro
strap. The TSPhone Controller receives the Infrared signals from the PROG
- this allows the user to control the TSPhone. (Answer incoming calls as well
as dial any number - see more about the TSPhone
and Controller)
