The Power Box is a remote control power point
and more.
With the Power Box, any special switch can be used to operate mains
powered appliances.
For people unable to operate conventional switches, the Power Box
enables them to operate lights, tape players, radios etc., using a suitable
switch.
Virtually any device that can connect to a power point can be plugged into the Power Box.
The Power Box has four different operating
modes:
Instant or Momentary: The device is only on while the switch is held
down. Often used to teach cause-effect, or with momentary appliances such
as a blender or milk shake mixer.
Latching: Press once for on, press again for off. Used for functional
control of appliances and lights, especially if the appliance is to remain
on for a while.
Latching - Dual Switch: Press one switch for
on, and a second for off. This mode can help reinforce the difference between
'on' and 'off'.
Timer: The device stays on for a set period. This easy to set
timer can range from one second to nine hours! The time remaining is displayed
as the timer counts down.
The Power Box provides an adjustable tremor setting. This means that the Power Box's response can be fine tuned to suit the individual needs of the user helps block out unintended switch presses.
The timer can be set accurately right down to the second and it can be set from one second to over nine hours!
Simply
plug any special accessibility switch into the Power Box and it can be used
to operate mains powered appliances.
