Windbag is a text based program for Windows [IBM/PC], which provides a 'chat box' for typing tex. The messages are spoken in synthesized or digitized speech. Highly intelligbile Australian speech output is now available. A phrase bank for fast retrieval of whole stored messages and intelligent word prediction assist to enhance speed of communication. Messages can also be recorded using a computer microphone and any voice.

The chat box allows you to speak as you type. It contains a number of tools to speed up the rate of speech:
- type in messages with abbreviation expansion e.g. ASAP= as soon as possible
- word prediction
- speak pre-stored texts by line, sentence or paragraph
- speak selected text
- load and save the contents of many chat boxes for future use - ideal for presentations
- instant responses with a single key 26 instant messages with two keys
The phrase bank provides an easy method to speak out commonly used messages very quickly. Messages may be in synthesised or digitised speech.
